In most movies where the main character is put into a master and student role (.i.e Crane and Grasshopper), you get one of those really inspirational mentors that imparts really good life experiences to the protagonist.
But for this post, I shall talk only talk about one of them.
Aptly named Cupid-o, my unit coordinator/lecturer/tutor has kept the unit interesting with his humorous and sometimes spur-of-the-moment comments and questions.
For example, midway through our lecture on Positive Accounting Theory, he goes to the board and starts drawing a face, with eyes only and proceeds to ask
What is love?
He then draws a smile; Love makes you happy.
He rubs the smile off and draws a line; Love makes you do things you don’t want to do.
He rubs the line off and a sad face replaces it; Love is painful.
He rubs this off and replaces it with a =P and then with a face with a blank stare.
He concludes by saying "If it hurts, it's love. If it makes you wake up in the middle of the night, it's love. If it's a lot of things. it's love."
I fell in "love" with his unit and way of teaching there and then.

He continued today, in our Foreign Currency Transaction lecture.
Love is a beautiful thing. But true love is painful.
A mother giving birth. She may be in pain but her love for her unborn child makes it all worthwhile.
Speaking to a lady in the front row;
Your boyfriend leaves you, you’ll be sad.
You leave your boyfriend, he’ll cry.
Well, that’s about the gist of it. My mind was concentrating more on the accounting info.
And as usual, he concluded with "the beauty of love is to hurt while your in love"
"80 or 90 years down the road and you are about to go to the after life, make sure you have been in love".
Oh yeah, one more gem of a knowledge...
My lecturer on a lesson he learnt from a Harvard Professor.
